In September, we celebrated the love of Jake and Kelsey at no other than the beautiful Cypress House in New Columbia. The Cypress House holds a special place in my heart as it truly checks all the boxes. A historic home to host the getting ready elements of your day, an immaculate garden with well intentioned and thought out landscaping, a pool to enjoy cocktail hour by and a classy + elevated tent to host your reception. All of those key components created the perfect recipe for Jake and Kelsey. Their garden party themed wedding had so many personal touches. From table clothes, to the subtle nods to Taylor Swift, yummy late night pizza, to the most insane send off ever – a slip and slide.
Garden party weddings always exude whimsy and serve as the perfect canvas for a wedding. I’ve shot at the Cypress House several times and it always is such a fun challenge to really allow the couple to connect with the venue in their own way. What I mean by that is, no wedding is shot the same, I try to create a truly custom experience for every couple.
Jake and Kelsey were a dream to work with and for. Seeing their visions come to life in the best ways, their energetic personalities threaded throughout, and their appreciation to being present during it all. Being their wedding photographer was truly an honor and I feel so lucky to be the photographer that brought their vision to life. Their gallery is one that I hold so close to my heart. Enjoy!
